Closer to people leadership than a modelling-heavy individual-contributor role because team management, talent development, and operating oversight are explicit requirements.
Manager-level actuarial leadership role in Aflac’s Actuarial Division, based primarily in Columbus, Georgia with a hybrid schedule. You’ll manage a complex actuarial team, oversee operating plans and reporting, advise senior management, and lead process and business improvements. The role requires an ASA or FSA and at least five years of actuarial experience.
Requirements
Must have
- ASA or FSA designation from the Society of Actuaries
- At least five years of experience working in the actuarial field
Strongly preferred
- Bachelor's degree in actuarial science, mathematics, computer science, or a related field
- Ability to analyze and present financial information
- Ability to compile and categorize statistical data and supervise preparation of reports
- Ability to develop computer systems for financial analysis and supervise others in these tasks
- Knowledge of employee relations to handle employee issues proactively
- Strong project management, leadership, and practice development skills
