Job Responsibilities:

- Assists in the development of monthly pricing review materials.

- Develops, maintains, and improves pricing instruments.

- Advises on rate filings and provides the necessary support.

- Investigates and resolves pricing questions from internal and external customers.

- Reviews data consistency and integrity.

- Assists in the production of strategic pricing proposals to senior management and other internal groups.

- Develops understanding of the relevant financial markets by keeping abreast of industry and economic analysis, financial risk management techniques, and participating in system-specific training.

- Regularly seeks and identifies ways to enhance the end product and provide value added consultation to management. Helps identify and develop creative ways to analyze pricing.

- Develops and implements documentation and training materials to enhance self-sufficiency for users of the department’s resources, analytics, and reports.

Required Skills Experience:

- General knowledge of quantitative methods and product pricing methodologies in the financial services industries, including discounted cash flow methodology and modern portfolio theory.

- Strong mathematical and statistical skills

- Fully proficient with MS Office products, especially advanced skills in Excel.

- Good attention to detail, analytical and problem-solving ability.

- Good communication and interpersonal skills to deal effectively with interdepartmental contacts.

- Ability to synthesize various identifiable factors and understand their impact on pricing.

- Strong time management skills.

Desired Skills/Experience:

- Proficient with SQL, SAS and/or python for data manipulation and summary.

Education:

Required knowledge & skills would typically be acquired through a bachelor’s degree plus 2+ years of related experience or master’s degree in a related field with some work experience.   

Preferred Education/Experience:

- Pursuit of Casualty Actuarial Society (CAS) designation with successful completion of at least 1 CAS exam.

- Other desirable designations include CFA or FRM.
