HIGHLIGHTS

Senior P&C pricing actuary focused on Homeowners pricing across Hippo’s hub locations (San Francisco Bay Area, Austin/Dallas TX, Morristown NJ). You’ll lead state-level rate changes, build raters and pricing tools in Python, perform rate indications and profitability studies, and partner with underwriting and product leadership in a hybrid hub-based model.

JOB DESCRIPTION SUMMARY

  • Lead state-level rate changes and new program launches end-to-end
  • Price Homeowners products and run rate indications and profitability studies
  • Build raters and rate proposals in Python; use SQL for data manipulation
  • Partner closely with underwriting, product, finance, risk and reinsurance
  • Hybrid role across Hippo hubs (SF Bay Area, Austin/Dallas, Morristown NJ)

DOMAIN EXPERTISE

  • Homeowners pricing
  • State-level rate filings and program launches
  • Loss cost modeling and rate indications
  • Using predictive model outputs to inform pricing
  • Reserving and key actuarial metrics knowledge

KEY REQUIREMENTS

  • Minimum 5 years of actuarial pricing experience in Homeowners or related P&C
  • Actuarial credentials: FCAS or near-FCAS
  • Professional experience coding with Python and SQL for data work
  • Experience using outputs of predictive models to inform pricing
  • Strong communication and project management skills
