Senior health actuarial role focused on Medicaid valuation and reserving for Blue Cross NC. You will lead complex reserving and pricing analyses, interpret run-rate and financial reporting impacts, and partner with a partner-plan and FP&A. This Principal Actuary reports into the Valuation/Reserving function and is based in North Carolina.
JOB DESCRIPTION SUMMARY
- Lead complex Medicaid reserving and valuation analyses for Blue Cross NC
- Interpret run-rate analysis and explain financial reporting treatments to leadership
- Support pricing, rating model development, medical trend and rate filings
- Partner with FP&A, underwriting, network management and a partner plan
- Principal-level role in the Valuation/Reserving function (based in NC)

- Medicaid experience

- Financial reporting and accounting for healthcare
- Rate filing development
- Medical trend analysis
KEY REQUIREMENTS
- ASA designation and Member of the American Academy of Actuaries (MAAA)
- Bachelor’s degree or advanced degree
- 5+ years of related actuarial experience
- Strong experience in reserving, valuation, and financial reporting
- Ability to lead complex actuarial modeling and consult on projects
