Put your insurance background and analytical mindset to work as a Rate Filing Consultant. You will serve as a key team member for Commercial Pricing gaining exposure to, and partnering closely with professionals in Actuarial, Underwriting, Legal and Compliance. In this role, you will work on major projects from start to finish; strategizing, collaborating, preparing and completing rate filings as well as implementing them across various Commercial products including but not limited to Workers Compensation, Commercial Auto, General Liability, Commercial Property, and Commercial Multi-Peril. Successful candidates are detail-oriented, demonstrate great communication skills, and collaborate as a trusted advisor. This role sits within the Actuarial umbrella, but is a non-actuary role that does not require actuarial exam taking or certifications. In this position, you will enjoy a hybrid work schedule that consists of one day per week in one of our CNA offices with the option to work the remainder of your week remotely.
JOB DESCRIPTION:
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Compiles data and prepares and submits reports of premium and claim statistics.
- Prepares state filing forms, exhibits statistical and supporting materials for regulatory filings.
- Develops methodologies, assumptions, qualifications, and computer programs, using a variety of programming languages and software, to capture data for complex actuarial analyses.
- Prepares rate proposals, relevant circulars, impact calculations and exhibits and preliminary indications.
- Assists Actuaries in completing their filing by doing prep work.
- Responds to regulatory agencies' and bureaus' questions and examinations after researching and resolving issues with business units.

Skills, Knowledge and Abilities
- Broad knowledge of actuarial business functions, statistical methods of analysis, company actuarial systems and databases, and their integration.
- Knowledge and understanding of processing systems and applications.
- Knowledge of computer applications, including Microsoft Office Suite and other business related software.
Education and Experience
- Bachelor's degree.
- Proficiency with, or ability to learn Microsoft Excel.
- Experience in insurance operations, actuarial pricing, internal audit, compliance, or data reporting preferred.
