[ Aon Is Looking For a Retirement Actuary - Advanced Associate

Pension and other retirement plans have enormous financial implications for employers. Actuaries within Retirement Consulting work directly with our clients' management teams to assess the short and long-term costs associated with these commitments. As part of an industry-leading team, you will help empower results for our clients by delivering innovative and effective solutions supporting our Retirement Consulting group in our Norwalk Office.

Your Impact as a Retirement Actuary - Advanced Associate

Job Responsibilities:
  • Pass actuarial exams (minimal requirement of one course per year)
  • Maintain some, and developing other, relationships with higher-level client contacts
  • Answer many client questions without reliance on lead actuary
  • Manage various projects simultaneously, with some oversight
  • Complete significant amount of work through others (i.e. delegation)
  • Play active role in client meetings
  • Work collaboratively with consultants from other lines of business
  • Prepare contribution requirements and accounting costs, with little or no guidance
  • Interpret valuation results and provide initial recommendations to lead actuary
  • Review valuation results and explain outcomes to client
  • Review pension benefit calculations
  • Take on significant responsibility and use own initiative to ensure projects are completed efficiently and on time
  • Coach/train less experienced students
  • Demonstrate flexibility to work additional hours when client needs dictate or take responsibility for finding resources to complete the assignment
  • Manage and meet all deadlines

Required Experience:
  • 4+ years of actuarial work experience
  • Completion of numerous actuarial exams
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint
  • Advanced knowledge with funding and accounting calculations


Preferred Experience:
  • ASA or EA Designations
  • Valuation programming on ProVal system

Education:
  • Bachelors Degree in Actuarial Science, Mathematics, Economics or Statistics or similar field

The salary range for this position (intended for U.S. applicants) is $98,000-$124,000 annually. The actual salary will vary based on applicant's education, experience, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity and alignment with market data. The salary may also be adjusted based on applicant's geographic location.

The salary range reflected is based on the primary work location. The actual salary may vary for applicants in a different geographic location.
