Closer to an actuarial data-science crossover than a modelling-heavy IC role—the differentiator is building data infrastructure and BI capability rather than owning one model.
Senior P&C actuarial role in San Francisco supporting personal and commercial auto insurance. You’ll work across actuarial data engineering, dashboards, reserving, pricing, financial reporting, and competitive analysis, partnering with Engineering, Data Science, Finance, Legal, and other teams. The hybrid schedule requires three office days per week.
Requirements
Must have
- Personal or commercial auto insurance experience
Strongly preferred
- Bachelor's or equivalent degree in Actuarial Science, Math, Statistics, Economics, or similar
- 3+ years of relevant internships or entry-level experience
- P&C actuarial field experience
- Very strong SQL skills
- Experience with ETL pipelines
- Experience with R or Python
- Working knowledge of GitHub
- Great communication and presentation skills
- Strong organization and time management skills
- Ability to balance attention to detail with a fast-paced environment
- Passion for actuarial science and eagerness to learn and grow
Nice to have
- Experience or knowledge in reserving
- Experience or knowledge in pricing
- Competitive analysis or financial statement analysis experience
