This position will be based in Whitehouse Station, NJ on a 3/2 hybrid basis and support Chubb's Personal Risk Services (PRS) Auto, Personal Umbrella and Rec Marine section of the Actuarial Department. This group is responsible for providing the financial analysis necessary for Chubb to sustain profitability and maintain a competitive position within the personal lines market. Expect significant interaction with Product Management, State Filings, and IT, as well as contact with our Corporate actuaries, Underwriting, and Claims.

This position is posted as a Senior Actuarial Analyst but may be filled at a higher or lower level depending on the candidate's experience and qualifications.

Major Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Produce state-level indications and territorial pricing analyses, present key findings to actuarial and business management.
  • Develop detailed proposals for the implementation or refinement of predictive pricing models into the rating plans for our Auto states, quantify impacts of rate change proposals and communicate findings to management via clearly laid out reports, presentations and exhibits.
  • Craft actuarial state filing documents to satisfy regulatory requirements and pursue approval from state departments of insurance.
  • Contribute to strategic projects, including enhancements to our Auto and Personal Umbrella class plan.
  • Participate in the annual countrywide Profitability Study.
    Other special projects as assigned.


Qualifications

Minimum Requirements:
  • Bachelor's or master's degree in Actuarial Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Finance, or similar technical discipline.
  • 4+ years of experience in property/casualty actuarial disciplines; personal lines ratemaking or reserving experience is a plus.
  • 4+ actuarial exams
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to provide clear and concise verbal and written communications of analyses, financial results, and work products.
  • Excellent organizational skills along with the ability to maintain adequate documentation and record keeping.
  • Proficiency in a programming language such as SQL, Python or R.
