The position will be based in Whitehouse Station, NJ and supports Chubb's Personal Risk Services (PRS) Division, a provider of Homeowners, Automobile, Umbrella, and Rec Marine insurance products to individuals.

MAJOR DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Support work products within the Forecasting and Portfolio Management unit of PRS Actuarial, from the perspective of data preparation and management.
  • Act as the internal expert on data, data quality, its manipulation and visualization. This includes learning about new internal data sources, understanding how the various data sources relate to each other, and setting up and maintaining querying best practices for the department.
  • Build and implement data monitoring and diagnostic initiatives, while maintaining documentation of data and processes.
  • Collaborate with the team to help implement and influence the process modernization vision. Includes process redesign to achieve efficiency, structure, scalability, and governance.
  • Develop actuarial analytical tools, detailed data queries and performance reports, to help achieve growth and profit targets. Work with I/T to build more efficient and robust data platforms.
  • Create actuarial reports and dashboards that foster transparency and consistency and tell a compelling story to both internal and external stakeholders
  • Help inform the North American Actuarial data strategy and recommended analytical / querying tools.
  • Special projects as assigned


Qualifications

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Actuarial Science, Mathematics, Economics, Computer Science, Statistics, or related degree or certification.
  • Minimum of four (4) years insurance industry experience, preferably in a Personal lines, Small Commercial, or Loss Reserving role.
  • 4+ actuarial exams.
  • Expert Excel and SQL skills required
  • Proficiency with a programming language such as R / Python / JavaScript, etc.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to provide clear and concise verbal and written communications of analyses, results, and work products.
  • Candidate can work independently, in a collaborative environment that requires frequent communication of status and redirection of efforts as needed
  • Should have good organization skills with the ability to maintain detailed documentation and record keeping.
