AAA Life is seeking to hire a Senior Actuarial Analyst to support our Modeling team. This person will support AAA's actuarial modernization initiatives and be responsible for maintaining actuarial models in MG-ALFA for VM-20 valuation and financial reporting processes. Additionally, this position offers opportunities to interact with internal and external stakeholders across multiple departments.
Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain actuarial models in MG-ALFA to support VM-20 valuation and financial reporting processes.
- Perform quarterly production VM-20 results and annual VM-31 reports.
- Test and analyze model results, including quantifying model change impacts and documenting the development process.
- Support AAA's model conversion initiatives.
- Actively improve the modeling process.
- Support internal and external audit inquiries.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Actuarial Science, Computer Science, Mathematics, or related field.
- Completion of 3 to 4 Society of Actuaries exams.
- Minimum 18 months experience in the actuarial field.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Experience with an Actuarial modeling system. MG-ALFA preferred.
- Proficiency in VM-20 knowledge is a plus.
- Previous experience programming in Access and proficient in Excel.
- Ability to:
- Identify improvements and enhance routine functions such as financial reporting.
- Program and test in Access and SQL Server database environments.
- Analyze results for reasonableness.
- Learn company operations, systems and actuarial methodologies quickly.
