HIGHLIGHTS

Senior health actuarial consultant on the Trend Analytics – Forecasting & Insights team in Eden Prairie, MN. You will design and maintain trend forecast models and analyze commercial, Medicare, and Medicaid claims data to support financial forecasting and strategic planning. The role requires strong analytics (R/Python/SQL/SAS/VBA), Excel modelling, and mentorship of junior staff.

JOB DESCRIPTION SUMMARY

  • Maintain and enhance trend forecast models for commercial health financial projections
  • Analyze large heterogeneous claims and non-claim datasets to produce actionable insights
  • Build scalable models using R, Python, SQL, SAS, VBA and Excel
  • Mentor junior team members and lead training sessions
  • Based in Eden Prairie, MN (on-site ability preferred)

DOMAIN EXPERTISE

  • Commercial health forecasting and financial projections
  • Experience acquiring and manipulating large claims and non-claim datasets
  • Building and maintaining Excel-based actuarial models
  • Data extraction and analysis using R, Python, SQL, SAS, and/or VBA
  • Designing and executing actuarial analyses for healthcare

KEY REQUIREMENTS

  • Minimum 4+ years as an actuary in healthcare, finance, or related analytics role
  • Currently on actuarial exam track with at least four exams passed
  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university
  • 4+ years working with large heterogeneous datasets (claims and non-claim)
  • Extensive Excel modelling and experience with R, Python, SQL, SAS, and/or VBA
