You'll develop code-based solutions, manipulate external data (Databricks), lead cross-functional reviews, mentor junior actuaries, and present findings to technical and non-technical leadership. Role is senior-level and based in Columbus, OH or Des Moines, IA with a hybrid arrangement; fully remote is also considered.
JOB DESCRIPTION SUMMARY
- Senior P&C actuarial role focused on commercial lines capability acceleration
- Build indication tools and develop code-based solutions (Python/R) for actuaries
- Work with data manipulation, querying and Databricks platforms
- Hybrid role (at least 2 days/week in-office) – fully remote considered
- Ideal for ACAS with ~6+ years of actuarial experience
DOMAIN EXPERTISE
- commercial lines actuarial experience
- P&C actuarial methodologies
- predictive modeling and model validation
- data manipulation and Databricks experience
KEY REQUIREMENTS
- Generally six or more years of actuarial experience
- ACAS designation generally attained
- Undergraduate degree in actuarial science, math, statistics, or similar
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, analytical software and programming languages
- Experience sourcing and manipulating data for actuarial models
