Closer to a pricing and underwriting partner than a reserving-cycle role because it combines live rate decisions with regulatory and business-facing leadership.
Senior P&C actuarial leadership role in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, covering pricing, reserving, regulatory filings, and capital modeling across major commercial and personal lines. You’ll lead actuarial staff, advise underwriting and claims, communicate with senior committees, and report to the Vice President, Actuarial. ACAS and at least six years of experience are required; FCAS is preferred.
Requirements
Must have
- Associate of the Casualty Actuarial Society (ACAS) required
- Minimum of 6 years of general actuarial experience
- Bachelor of Science degree in mathematics, actuarial science or similar curriculum
- Must have a valid driver's license and be able to operate a motor vehicle
- Must be able to travel, with overnight stays required
Strongly preferred
- Prior experience with 4 years of ratemaking
- High level of quantitative analytical skills
- Familiarity with property and casualty insurance accounting and finance
- High proficiency in personal computer spreadsheet and database skills
- Familiarity with legal and regulatory requirements for ratemaking and filing
- Strong organizational skills
- Good written and oral communication skills
Nice to have
- Fellow of the Casualty Actuarial Society (FCAS) preferred
