Role Summary

Role type

Actuarial data science crossover

A data-science crossover rather than a pure modelling IC—the role requires production integration, AI context, and engineering collaboration.

Senior Health actuary and data science engineering role based in the United States, focused on value-based care contracts. You’ll build production-scale models for reserving, forecasting, risk adjustment, and pricing, then integrate them into AI-enabled software using Python, R, SQL, and modern data infrastructure.

Requirements

Must have

  • Associate of the Society of Actuaries (ASA) designation
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the US without employer sponsorship
  • Willingness to travel quarterly for team offsites

Strongly preferred

  • Fellow of the Society of Actuaries (FSA) designation
  • 6+ years of healthcare actuarial experience with claims and eligibility data
  • Strong hands-on coding skills in Python, R, and SQL
  • Experience with Git/GitHub for version control
  • Deep interest or experience in generative AI, LLMs, PySpark, or cloud data infrastructure
  • Entrepreneurial mindset and ability to communicate actuarial concepts to non-actuarial teams

Nice to have

  • Hands-on experience with PySpark, Databricks, or distributed computing frameworks
  • Familiarity with modern AI architectures (RAG, OKF, model evaluation suites)
  • Experience translating traditional actuarial logic into modern engineering languages
