Closer to a people-leadership role than a reserving-cycle specialist because hiring, evaluations, coaching, and staff decisions are central to the manager's remit.

Senior P&C commercial reserving manager role, remote anywhere in the US except Hawaii and Alaska, with California listed as the location. You will lead monthly booking and quarterly reserve reviews, communicate results to senior leaders, manage and develop actuarial staff, and partner with internal and external clients. ACAS, commercial lines reserving experience, and people leadership are required.

Requirements

Must have

  • BS in statistics, mathematics, actuarial science or related area and 6 years of post-bachelor experience performing statistical and actuarial analysis on personal or commercial lines insurance
  • Or Graduate degree in statistics, mathematics, actuarial science or related area and 4 years experience performing statistical and actuarial analysis on personal or commercial lines insurance
  • 1+ years of leadership experience
  • 3+ years of Reserving experience
  • ACAS (Associate in Casualty Actuarial Society)
  • Must have authorization to work indefinitely in the US

Nice to have

  • 3+ years of Commercial Lines Reserving experience
  • FCAS
  • Expert-level problem solving and critical thinking skills
  • Proven oral and written communication skills, including the ability to give formal presentations
  • Proven team leadership ability
  • In depth actuarial industry knowledge and knowledge of the insurance marketplace
