HIGHLIGHTS

Senior P&C-focused economist to build an enterprise economics function at a national P&C carrier. You will produce macro and claims inflation forecasts, support pricing, reserving, capital/ERM scenario design, and provide cross-functional analytics for underwriting, reinsurance, and investments. Senior individual contributor role reporting to the Vice President, Actuarial Services, based in the United States (California location noted).

JOB DESCRIPTION SUMMARY

  • Build enterprise economic outlooks and forecasts to inform pricing, underwriting, and capital
  • Model loss cost inflation, social inflation, frequency/severity, and exposure trends
  • Support ERM/ORSA scenario design and analyze impacts on capital, liquidity, and reinsurance
  • Collaborate with Actuarial, Underwriting, Claims, Finance, Risk, and Investments
  • Hands-on Python or R and SQL with visualization in Tableau or Power BI

DOMAIN EXPERTISE

  • P&C economics or related financial services experience
  • Loss cost and social inflation analysis for claims forecasting
  • Econometrics and time-series forecasting (ARIMA/VAR, state-space)
  • Hands-on Python or R plus SQL and Tableau/Power BI
  • Experience preparing analyses and presentations for leadership

KEY REQUIREMENTS

  • 7+ years economics analyst experience in P&C insurance or related financial services
  • Bachelor's degree required (Master's a plus)
  • Working knowledge of econometrics and time-series analysis (ARIMA/VAR, state-space, panel)
  • Hands-on experience with Python or R and SQL and visualization in Tableau/Power BI
  • Familiarity with P&C loss drivers, social inflation, reinsurance, and regulatory contexts
