JOB DESCRIPTION SUMMARY
- Senior actuarial analyst supporting Retirement and Health & Welfare programs
- Lead funding analyses and pension valuation work for the System's plans
- Apply asset/liability matching and fixed-income investment principles
- Collaborate with Finance, external actuaries, and investment managers
- Onsite role in Newark, NJ with mentorship and project leadership responsibilities
DOMAIN EXPERTISE
- pension actuarial calculations and funding analyses
- health & welfare actuarial calculations
- asset/liability matching for pension plans
- retiree medical funding approaches and trusts
- knowledge of ERISA/IRC and benefit plan accounting
KEY REQUIREMENTS
- Seven+ years of actuarial analysis experience preferred
- Bachelor's degree in math, actuarial science, finance or related field required
- Strong knowledge of ERISA, Internal Revenue Code, and relevant accounting rules
- Deep understanding of asset/liability matching and fixed-income investments
- Experience with pension or health & welfare actuarial calculations
