JOB DESCRIPTION SUMMARY

  • Senior actuarial analyst supporting Retirement and Health & Welfare programs
  • Lead funding analyses and pension valuation work for the System's plans
  • Apply asset/liability matching and fixed-income investment principles
  • Collaborate with Finance, external actuaries, and investment managers
  • Onsite role in Newark, NJ with mentorship and project leadership responsibilities

DOMAIN EXPERTISE

  • pension actuarial calculations and funding analyses
  • health & welfare actuarial calculations
  • asset/liability matching for pension plans
  • retiree medical funding approaches and trusts
  • knowledge of ERISA/IRC and benefit plan accounting

KEY REQUIREMENTS

  • Seven+ years of actuarial analysis experience preferred
  • Bachelor's degree in math, actuarial science, finance or related field required
  • Strong knowledge of ERISA, Internal Revenue Code, and relevant accounting rules
  • Deep understanding of asset/liability matching and fixed-income investments
  • Experience with pension or health & welfare actuarial calculations
