Senior health actuary role based in Austin, TX (hybrid) reporting to the CFO. You’ll lead pricing and actuarial oversight for commercial health products including stop-loss, support FP&A and budgeting, and provide strategic actuarial guidance to executives, board and external partners. The role requires senior leadership, team management, and experience with predictive modeling and data visualizations.
JOB DESCRIPTION SUMMARY
- Lead pricing and actuarial oversight for commercial health and stop-loss products
- Develop actuarial models, rate filings, and analytics to support pricing and network contracting
- Partner with Product, Underwriting, Finance and third parties (MGU, TPA, consultants)
- Hybrid role based in Austin, TX; reports to the CFO
- Ideal for a senior health actuary with 8+ years and experience in predictive modeling/Tableau
DOMAIN EXPERTISE
- healthcare actuarial experience
- self-funding and level-funding products
- employer stop-loss experience
- commercial health product pricing and rate filings
- health plan budgeting and FP&A
KEY REQUIREMENTS
- At least 8 years of actuarial experience in a healthcare setting
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Proven experience managing teams and mentoring junior staff
- Experience pricing commercial health products, rate filings, and network contracting
- Proficiency with Excel, Tableau and predictive/statistical modeling in healthcare
