Our Actuarial Department is a dynamic group of professionals focusing on pricing, reserving, and data analysis for all written lines of business. The actuarial team creates, maintains and updates pricing models for underwriters to utilize; creates reserving estimates for all lines of business and assists with financial- and claims-related items, helping the organization to succeed using our insurance expertise. We aim to improve practices and efficiency across the organization, while using data to the fullest potential to gain insights that help our underwriting and management teams meet our goals.
Role Description:
As a Senior Pricing Actuary, you will take on a strategic and highly visible role providing pricing analysis and technical support for direct Workers' Compensation business, including primary, large deductible, and excess layers. You'll work independently on complex tasks with minimal supervision while collaborating closely with executive and senior managers to respond to market trends, regulatory updates, and corporate goals. Your day-to-day will involve maintaining underwriting and pricing models, analyzing underwriting results, recommending changes in filed rate level, and evaluating profitability. You'll have a major impact by advising on risk transfer, conducting collateral analyses, and supporting regulatory filings. Leading a team of actuaries and staff, you'll also provide coaching, training, and performance reviews to develop talent. Qualifications:
Education:
- Bachelor's degree is required.
Required Qualifications:
- Member of the Casualty Actuarial Society.
- 15 or more years of pricing or ratemaking experience at a U.S. insurance/reinsurance company or rating bureau
- 5 or more years Workers' Compensation pricing experience
- 1 or more years of supervisory experience
- Strong communication and leadership skills
- Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
- Must be presently authorized to work in the U.S. without a requirement for work authorization sponsorship by our company for this position now or in the future.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Knowledge of writing SQL code and queries.
- Experience with large account (loss sensitive) pricing for Workers Compensation
- Rate and product filing experience for Workers Compensation.
- Familiarity with programming languages such as Python, R, SAS, and VBA.

In our vision to be First with Co-Workers, compensation is only one piece of the comprehensive total rewards package we offer. The target base salary range for this position is $150,000 to $239,000. Compensation for the successful candidate will consider the candidate's particular combination of knowledge, skills, competencies, experience and geographic location.
