Description and Requirements
MetLife is seeking an experienced qualified actuary with sound understanding of Corporate insurance products and well-developed people leadership, technical and commercial skills. This position will play a crucial strategic role in the management of a significant and growing Corporate insurance portfolio
Principal Responsibilities:
· Lead the team preparing pricing and experience analyses (quantitative and qualitative) for the corporate portfolio and individual large corporate new business opportunities
· Liaise with Distribution team to provide pricing insights to respective brokers and direct clients, both new and existing
· Engage, develop, coach and motivate a team of four to six analysts to perform on a consistent basis
· Manage the team’s deliverables, workload, and capacity to effectively execute customer requests
· Engage and manage day-to-day interactions with corporate reinsurance partners
· Compile and maintain documentation of pricing decisions, methodology and assumptions
· Support the development of new corporate product designs by providing insightful pricing judgement
· Ensure pricing meets MetLife profitability targets and relevant corporate and regulatory standards
· Maintain a strong working relationship with Distribution, Finance, Operations and Product teams to support the overall growth of the corporate portfolio
· Contribute to leadership of the broader Group Pricing function as a senior member of the Group Pricing Leadership Team
Knowledge/Skills/Competencies Required:
· Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
· Sound understanding of life insurance
· Strong research, analytical and technical experience
· Accuracy and attention to detail
· Robust negotiation and influencing skills
· Deep people leadership experience
· Excellent communications (oral and written)
Qualification Required
· Fellowship with the Institute of Actuaries Australia (FIAA) or equivalent
· Degree in Actuarial Sciences, mathematics or related field
· Skilled with applications such as Excel, PowerPoint, Word and Salesforce
· Minimum of 5 years’ experience in actuarial roles with people leadership responsibility
