JOB DESCRIPTION SUMMARY

  • Lead pricing and reserve-setting strategy for large group and related health lines
  • Develop and oversee premium rate filings with regulators (CMS, NY DOH)
  • Manage and develop actuarial staff supporting ACA, Large Group, Medicare, Medicaid
  • Perform financial, membership and trend analyses with Product and Finance
  • Proficiency with Excel, Access, data extraction, simulations and automation

DOMAIN EXPERTISE

  • health insurance actuarial experience in managed care
  • development and filing of premium rates with CMS/NY Department of Health
  • pricing and reserve setting for health blocks of business
  • financial, membership and trend analyses for product performance

KEY REQUIREMENTS

  • Associate of the Society of Actuaries (ASA) and American Academy membership required
  • Bachelor's degree in Actuarial Science, Math, or related field required
  • 10+ years relevant experience and 5+ years health insurance actuarial experience required
  • 1+ year management experience required; lead actuarial staff and projects
  • Proficiency with MS Office (Excel, Access, Word, PowerPoint) and data extraction
