JOB DESCRIPTION SUMMARY
- Lead pricing and reserve-setting strategy for large group and related health lines
- Develop and oversee premium rate filings with regulators (CMS, NY DOH)
- Manage and develop actuarial staff supporting ACA, Large Group, Medicare, Medicaid
- Perform financial, membership and trend analyses with Product and Finance
- Proficiency with Excel, Access, data extraction, simulations and automation
DOMAIN EXPERTISE
- health insurance actuarial experience in managed care
- development and filing of premium rates with CMS/NY Department of Health
- pricing and reserve setting for health blocks of business
- financial, membership and trend analyses for product performance
KEY REQUIREMENTS
- Associate of the Society of Actuaries (ASA) and American Academy membership required
- Bachelor's degree in Actuarial Science, Math, or related field required
- 10+ years relevant experience and 5+ years health insurance actuarial experience required
- 1+ year management experience required; lead actuarial staff and projects
- Proficiency with MS Office (Excel, Access, Word, PowerPoint) and data extraction
