Pricing partner to underwriting

Closer to a live-business pricing partner than a modelling-heavy IC because underwriter and program-partner interaction is central to the role.

Senior P&C actuarial role in AXA XL’s North America Programs business, based in New York with a hybrid work pattern. You’ll support pricing, portfolio management, profitability assessments and rate monitoring while partnering with underwriting, reserving, capital modelling and external program partners.

Requirements

Strongly preferred

  • ACAS or near-ACAS preferred
  • Degree in Actuarial Science, Mathematics, Applied Math, Statistics, or related field
  • Significant experience in Excel
  • General understanding of actuarial pricing on various different product lines
  • Understanding of commonly used reserving methodologies, assumption setting and techniques
  • Detail oriented with appreciation for real-world vagaries of Programs business and third-party data
  • Outstanding verbal and written communications skills
  • Ability to work self-directed with minimal supervision and as part of a global team
  • Significant experience in P&C insurance pricing or reserving
  • Working experience in Programs space

Nice to have

  • R programming skills desired
  • Other coding experience is a plus
