As a member of our high-performance actuarial team, you'll help support UnitedHealth Group's growth and financial goals and while you help shape our future. As the Sr Actuarial Analyst ALDP (Actuarial Leadership Development Program), you will be empowered, supported, and encouraged to use your actuarial expertise as you perform financial analysis and build models that improve health plan competitiveness. You'll find an accelerated actuarial development path to support you in your continuing post-graduate education and certification.

Preferred locations for this position would be Minnetonka, MN or Phoenix, AZ. Candidates who would work remotely will also be considered.

You'll enjoy the flexibility to work remotely * from anywhere within the U.S. as you take on some tough challenges.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Analyze and interpret quantitative data to create and review monthly/quarterly and ad hoc exhibits based on detailed data sets
  • Perform data mining and analysis that impacts foundational pricing and risk assumptions
  • Create experience tracking reports at various levels of detail, including rate-cell/regional reporting consistent with revenue reimbursement for all Community & State products
  • Lead presentations to health plan leadership
  • Manage and prioritize health plan project requests
  • Work closely with our markets and states on rate advocacy support
  • Analyze and evaluate state rate activity and impacts
  • Work with Shared Services Teams to improve data assets

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience
  • On the Actuarial exam track, having passed 2 or more Actuarial exams
  • 2+ years of experience working in a corporate environment that includes experience collecting, analyzing and summarizing qualitative/quantitative data
  • Advanced or higher level of proficiency with Excel (formulas, calculations, charts, graphs)

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience working in finance or the health care industry
  • Familiarity in SQL (Structured Query Language), SAS (Statistical Analysis System) and/or VBA (Visual Basic for Applications)

Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to education, work experience, certifications, etc. In addition to your salary, UnitedHealth Group offers benefits such as, a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase and 401k contribution (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements).
