Role type

Life valuation and reporting cycle

Closer to a reserving/reporting cycle role than a modelling-heavy IC role because recurring UL/VUL GAAP work is the anchor.

Senior Life actuarial valuation role with Ameriprise’s Corporate Actuarial Valuation team in Minneapolis, Minnesota. You’ll oversee UL/VUL GAAP reserves, improve complex actuarial models, automate monthly reporting processes, and communicate analysis to leadership and cross-functional stakeholders.

Requirements

Must have

  • 5-7 years of actuarial experience
  • Bachelor's degree in Actuarial Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Data Science, or related field
  • Passed all Introductory ASA exams plus 3 Actuarial/Advanced ASA exams or completed VEE coursework
  • Strong analytical, quantitative, and problem-solving skills

Strongly preferred

  • Experience with UL/VUL GAAP reserve processes and actuarial models
  • Experience developing, improving, and operating complex actuarial models
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills

Nice to have

  • Experience with Excel, Python, Power BI, SQL and other database applications
