The Staff Actuary provides actuarial expertise on life and financial reporting topics, regulatory and policy analysis, and stakeholder engagement. You will lead projects, represent the Academy publicly, and collaborate with volunteers and leadership on research and policy initiatives.
JOB DESCRIPTION SUMMARY
- Provide actuarial expertise on life and financial reporting and regulatory policy
- Lead and deliver public policy work products and research with volunteers
- Represent the Academy at public forums and stakeholder meetings
- Requires ASA or ACAS and at least 5 years of actuarial experience
- Based in Washington, DC with ~15% domestic travel and occasional weekends
DOMAIN EXPERTISE
- Life or financial reporting practice areas
- Stakeholder engagement with regulators and legislators
- Insurance, financial services, or risk management experience
KEY REQUIREMENTS
- ASA or ACAS designation required
- At least 5 years of actuarial experience
- Bachelor’s degree in actuarial science, math, statistics, or related field
- Experience engaging legislative and regulatory stakeholders
- Ability to lead projects and operate independently
