JOB DESCRIPTION SUMMARY
- Lead pricing and reserve-setting strategies for Medicare and state-sponsored products
- Oversee premium rate development and regulatory filings (CMS, NY DOH)
- Supervise and develop actuarial staff covering Medicare and State Sponsored areas
- Work with Product Management, Finance, and Risk Adjustment to improve product performance
- Fully remote role; based in New York, NY
DOMAIN EXPERTISE
- managed care health insurance actuarial experience
- Medicare premium rate development and filings (CMS, NY DOH)
- reserve setting and reserving strategies
- risk adjustment program optimization
- data querying using SQL or SAS Enterprise Guide
KEY REQUIREMENTS
- Associate of the Society of Actuaries (ASA) required
- 5+ years relevant professional experience (posting lists 5–8+ years)
- 4+ years health insurance actuarial experience, preferably managed care
- Bachelor’s degree in actuarial science, math, or related required
- Expert skills with databases/spreadsheets and analytical software; SQL/SAS preferred
