Under the general direction of the Chief Life Actuary, the Actuary Supervisor performs highly skilled actuarial analysis, works on the most complex Long-Term Care Insurance (LTCI) actuarial rate filings, and assists the Chief Life Actuary in managing the work of the life actuarial staff. Provides actuarial support to other units within the Department. Participates in NAIC committees related to LTCI.
This position is designated under the Conflict of Interest Code. The position is responsible for making or participating in the making of governmental decisions that may potentially have a material effect on personal financial interests. The appointee is required to complete Form 700 within 30 days of appointment. Failure to comply with the Conflict of Interest Code requirements may void the appointment.

Working Conditions
- The incumbent must be able to work in a high rise building.
- The incumbent may telework in accordance with CDI's Telework Policy. Teleworking employees may be required to report to their headquarters office location on designated telework days. Travel expenses are not reimbursed, however other authorized transit subsidies do exist for those who qualify.

Statement of Qualifications
Submission of a fully completed Statement of Qualifications (SOQ) will be a part of the application, and the application will not be considered unless the required SOQ is submitted. The SOQ must be typed and not be longer than two pages, single sided, single spaced, 1" margin, using 12-point Arial font. Your SOQ should include the following topics:
- Broad and extensive experience in a position with duties equivalent to that of a Senior LTCI Actuarial Officer.
- Ability to perform administrative and supervisory functions as a team leader.
- Demonstrated history of applying knowledge of LTCI principles and actuarial science in complex situations.
- Demonstrated knowledge of Actuarial Memoranda relating to LTCI pricing.
- Ability to maintain effective working relationships with the Executive Staff, public officials nationwide, industry executives, consumer groups and organizations.
- Demonstrated knowledge of the California Insurance Code, rules, and regulations governing the LTCI rate setting aspects of insurance companies.
