Actuarial modeling people leader

Closer to people leadership than a modelling-heavy IC role because developing staff and guiding team delivery are explicit core expectations.

Manager-level P&C actuarial predictive modeling role in the United States. You will guide pricing model development and governance, challenge assumptions, support filings, advise underwriting and management, and lead members of the Actuarial Predictive Modeling team. The role combines advanced modeling judgment with people leadership and cross-functional influence.

Requirements

Strongly preferred

  • Bachelor's degree in Actuarial Science, Mathematics, or a related field
  • 5+ years of actuarial pricing experience
  • ACAS or FCAS designation
  • Strong data exploration and manipulation skills (SQL, R, or Python)
  • Experience working with Git
  • Solid understanding of statistical methods for insurance data
  • Experience with predictive models for Pricing
  • Experience with modern machine learning technologies (GBM)
  • Experience managing, supervising, or mentoring team members
  • Proven ability to build consensus and drive large-scale projects
  • Ability to build trust and rapport
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail
  • Demonstrated ability to experiment with and learn new technologies
  • Effective communication with technical and non-technical audiences

Nice to have

  • Ideally in small commercial insurance
