Closer to a data-science crossover than a pure modelling role because database development, visualization, automation, and AI adoption are central to the remit.
Senior Health actuarial analytics role in a hybrid Indianapolis setting. You will investigate healthcare cost, utilization, clinical, operational, and financial trends; support pricing and product decisions; and translate complex analysis into recommendations for business partners and senior leaders. The role requires a bachelor's degree and at least eight years of related actuarial experience, with substantial SQL and database expertise.
Requirements
Must have
- BA/BS in Mathematics, Statistics, or related field
- Minimum of 8 years related experience in an actuarial environment performing financial reporting, rate development, evaluation of risk contingencies and/or trend projections
- No visa sponsorship available
Strongly preferred
- Healthcare analytics experience
- Experience with utilization management data
- 4 years of database development and data management
- Experience with Snowflake
- Strong experience in MS SQL Server (2016 or newer)
- Proficiency in reporting and visualization tools (Tableau, Power BI, SSRS)
- Advanced SQL skills, including writing complex queries and stored procedures
- Strong Excel and general data analysis skills
- Excellent communication, project management, interpersonal and organizational skills
- Demonstrated curiosity, initiative, and strong desire to learn
Nice to have
- Experience with Utilization Management systems and Behavioral Health programs
