Manager-level P&C role (Underwriting & Actuarial Lead) based in Reston, VA. You will combine underwriting leadership with actuarial pricing, reserving and IFRS 17 implementation for auto insurance products. Role owns pricing/reserve challenge, loss forecasting and presents results to senior finance and risk stakeholders.

JOB DESCRIPTION SUMMARY

  • Lead underwriting and actuarial activities for auto insurance products
  • Own pricing and reserving analysis and IFRS 17 implementation
  • Manage and mentor a team of underwriters and analysts
  • Work hybrid from Reston, VA with flexible remote work as-needed
  • Engage with CFO, VP Finance, CRO and external auditors on forecasts

DOMAIN EXPERTISE

  • auto insurance pricing and reserving
  • IFRS 17 implementation for insurance products

  • data extraction and analysis from a data warehouse

KEY REQUIREMENTS

  • 10+ years insurance experience (minimum)
  • At least 5 years working as an actuary and ACAS designation required
  • Bachelor’s degree in a quantitative discipline required
  • Experience managing and mentoring underwriting/analyst teams
  • Proficiency with data analysis tools, Excel and SQL/statistical packages
