US & Multinational Analytics Manager - Service Programs
Job Description:
We are looking for an Analytics Manager to join our Pricing and Portfolio Management team and manage the process and people responsible for accurate data collection, processing, modeling and analysis of our growing Multinational Accounts portfolio. This role reports to the Global Portfolio Manager for Accident & Health, Individual Travel, and Warranty Services. The role is responsible for leading the identification and analysis of key financial and operational metrics to evaluate the drivers of economic value and business performance. This position is also responsible for the development, and evaluation of corrective action strategies to improve profitability, enhance underwriting performance and contribute to achieving financial targets for profit and growth.
- Partner with the Service Programs Product Management and work collaboratively across functions (marketing, finance, claims, operations, actuarial, underwriting and distribution) to establish the key financial and operational drivers of economic value for the business segment
- Analyze the key metrics to evaluate the performance of the business operations (e.g. frequency ratios, severity, rate changes, mix of business changes, etc.) that need to be managed in order for the business segment to produce profitable and growing performance
- Produce concise, relevant and actionable management information reports and analysis, including an understanding of the competition
- Consolidate summary information from all of the different disciplines to provide a holistic view of the performance of the business segment. Highlight critical trends, and recommend actions to improve profitability and growth
- Provide leadership in the decision making on required actions. Propose and help implement solutions to improve profitability with respect to short and long-term portfolio remediation strategies
- Monitor agreed upon underwriting corrective action plans with actual to expected result measurement for the region
- Provide feedback on specific segment and product strategies to ensure that sales, growth, and profitability objectives are achieved
- Identify, distribute and implement best practices for Business Analytic tools, process and techniques. Ensure best practice sharing within the region and develop organizational capabilities
- Ensure adherence to all policies, guidelines and procedures
- Demonstrate strong understanding of local macroeconomic and competitive trends in each market and provide insight to product managers
Job Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in analytics, statistics, mathematics, or related field is preferred
- 7+ years of experience in a position monitoring, managing, manipulating and drawing insights from data
- Significant experience of insurance industry or financial services experience in Warranty Service Program product management, underwriting, actuarial or analytics capacity
- Experience leading a team is preferred
- Proven ability to lead, motivate and gain commitment and trust from colleagues
- Comfortable interacting with senior management
- Strong analytical, financial, research, and problem-solving skills
- Experience working with and creating databases and dashboards using all relevant data to inform decisions.
- Experience with data visualization tools: Tableau, Raw, chart.js, etc.
- Proficient in Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
- SQL skills, ability to perform effective querying involving multiple tables and subqueries is preferred
- Strong business acumen with a proven track record of making sound judgments backed by analytical and quantitative skills
- Process expertise and familiarity with IT systems
- Strategic orientation, providing vision and purpose, developing organizational capability and managing change
- Strong communication (oral and written) and influencing skills and demonstrated ability and work across interdisciplinary teams that are geographically dispersed
- Ability to work independently, challenge status quo and promote new solutions
