Overview

The role encompasses a wide range of activities, including reinsurance pricing analysis, interaction with our Broking teams, client interaction as well as research projects. This broad-based introduction to the reinsurance sector will position you for significant future growth opportunities within our firm.

How you'll make an impact

As Vice President, you will provide actuarial reinsurance pricing and dynamic portfolio optimization support for our clients and prospects. Line of business focus: Personal lines Property (Cat and Non-Cat), Casualty, and Medical Malpractice.

Account Analysis & Support:
  • Perform actuarial analysis to develop loss model for client business, estimate reinsurance pricing, and determine optimal reinsurance structures given client risk profile and underwriting strategy
  • Present analyses in clear terms appropriate to the audience
  • Provide value-added service to clients as needed
  • Market Research and Development
  • Assist in market and line of business studies to credentialize Gallagher Re as thought leader in reinsurance and primary marketplace
  • Work closely with other analytical associates across Gallagher Re, including other actuaries, catastrophe modelers, rating agency advisory, ERM and capital markets associates

  • Able to apply advanced mathematical / actuarial concepts and techniques
  • Skilled in using Microsoft Excel and other software
  • Skilled in R and Python

About You

Required:
  • Bachelor's degree or commensurate experience; 5-10 years' related experience
  • ACAS or FCAS
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and R and/or Python
  • Moderate travel required, including some overnight travel.
  • Ability to travel by automobile and aircraft and work outside or normal business hours as required.
  • Ability to perform work on varied customer properties; entails negotiating non-public access areas, climbing, lifting, sitting, standing and walking for extended periods of time.
