About the Role:
In partnership with the Chief Actuary / Chief Product Officer and distribution leadership, the VP, Product Actuary will be responsible for helping shape the company's product vision. This role will lead the product development and management functional area, including the product actuarial team and other product professionals. The VP, Product Actuary position reports to the Chief Actuary Officer and can be based out of our home office in Topeka, Kansas or our Overland Park, KS location. We work a hybrid schedule, offering flexibility to work both remotely and on-site.
- Working with the Chief Product Officer, develop the company's product vision and roadmap
- Collaborate with marketing and sales to develop innovative products that meet distribution and market needs and corporate sales targets.
- Provide actuarial insights on product risk management and profitability, identifying and assessing financial and actuarial risks and opportunities.
- Oversee the development of pricing assumptions, models, and methodologies
- Lead the rate setting strategies and other product management efforts.
- Working with Financial Product CCDM (Consumer Centric Delivery Model) team, support new product launches and implementations (product filings, product testing, etc.)
- Lead the product actuaries and other product professionals, establishing business objectives and goals, providing guidance and direction.
- Develop the next generation of product and pricing leaders
- Provide support on the reinsurance initiatives to enhance the capital efficiency, profitability, and risk profile of new and In force business
What We're Looking For:
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Actuarial Science, Mathematics, or a related field.
- Fellow of the Society of Actuaries (FSA) preferred.
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in actuarial roles within the life insurance industry, with strong product development experiences
- Proven track record of leadership.
- Strong understanding of annuity products, pricing, and risk management.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
