HIGHLIGHTS

Senior Health valuation role leading reserving and financial reporting for Group Benefits in Philadelphia, PA. You will oversee GAAP, Statutory, and IFRS 17 valuation processes, develop corporate models, and lead a team of actuarial professionals. This VP-level position requires extensive experience with group life and disability products and will serve as a successor to the VP, Valuation & Appointed Actuary.

JOB DESCRIPTION SUMMARY

  • Lead reserving and valuation for Group Benefits (LTD, STD, Group Life, supplemental health)
  • Oversee financial reporting under GAAP, Statutory, and IFRS 17
  • Manage and develop a team of 5–7 actuarial professionals
  • Build and maintain complex, calculation-intensive actuarial models
  • Hybrid role based in Philadelphia, PA with up to 10% travel

DOMAIN EXPERTISE

  • Group Benefit insurance (Long Term Disability, Short Term Disability, Group Life, supplemental health)
  • Valuation and financial reporting under GAAP, IFRS 17, and Statutory accounting
  • Model governance and reserve assumption setting

KEY REQUIREMENTS

  • Fellow of the Society of Actuaries (FSA) required
  • Membership in the American Academy of Actuaries required
  • Minimum 10 years directly related Group Benefits actuarial experience
  • Familiarity with GAAP, IFRS 17, and Statutory accounting
  • Experience managing an actuarial valuation team
