The Northeast Employee Benefits Practice has an opening for an Actuarial Analyst in our Albany, New York City, Philadelphia or Little Falls, NJ locations.  The successful candidate should have 0-4 years relevant experience with SOA exam success. Northeast Employee Benefits Practice

The Northeast Employee Benefits Practice has four locations: Albany, New York City, Philadelphia and Little Falls (NJ). The practice provides a wide range of consulting and administrative services for Employee Benefit plans. You will be joining over 100 fellow employees in a challenging, dynamic work environment and a thriving Employee Benefits practice.

Employees are expected to work in the office 2 days per week and may work remotely for the remaining portion of the week.

Role

This entry level position provides support and assistance to actuarial consultants. This includes measuring pension liabilities and annual costs, studying the effects of changes in the design of employee benefit plans, and communicating results.

  • Prepare basic actuarial calculations, government form filings, and other client deliverables
  • Obtain data from clients and respond to client requests for information, explanations, and answers related questions
  • Provide analysis and assistance on projects as assigned.

Job Requirements

  • BA or BS in Mathematics or related field
  • Actively pursuing EA exams towards Actuarial certification
  • Excellent computer and technical skills
  • Strong communication skills
  • Ability to handle multiple projects at the same time
  • Ability to work on detailed spreadsheets
  • Ability to work in a team environment

Additional Skills considered:

  • Prior actuarial experience
  • ProVal experience
  • Relevant experience with pension valuation work, benefit calculations and preparation of government forms
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office applications: Excel, Access and Visual Basic
  • Experience in administration of employee and/or retirement benefits
  • Sharp critical thinking skills, sound judgment and decision-making ability, and both the ability and willingness to clearly articulate your ideas
  • An inherent sense of the value of collaboration

Compensation

The salary range for this position is $61,000- $110,000 depending on relevant factors, including but not limited to education, work experience, certifications, location, etc.
