Senior health actuarial analyst supporting evaluation of Blue Shield's value-based care and ACO payment models. You will analyze cost, utilization and quality using statistical and machine-learning methods and produce stakeholder-ready reports. Role is based in Oakland, CA with a hybrid working model.
JOB DESCRIPTION SUMMARY
- Evaluate value-based care (ACO) program performance: cost, utilization, and quality
- Use R, Python, SQL and/or SAS for data exploration and statistical/ML analysis
- Develop evaluation and financial reporting standards and deliverables
- Hybrid role based in Oakland, CA — office visits at least twice per month
- Senior analyst with 3+ years actuarial experience; ASA progress preferred
DOMAIN EXPERTISE
- Professional actuarial experience (3+ years)
- Advanced Microsoft Excel and/or SAS/SQL
- Bachelor's degree with minor in math, statistics, or computer science
KEY REQUIREMENTS
- 3+ years of professional actuarial experience
- Bachelor's degree (minor in math, statistics, or computer science) required
- Advanced experience with Microsoft Excel and/or SAS/SQL
- Strong communication and presentation skills for non-technical audiences
