Associate P&C actuarial data analyst role in San Francisco supporting commercial General Liability, Workers’ Compensation, Property, and Excess Casualty. You’ll combine ratemaking and regulatory filing work with portfolio monitoring, SQL-based analysis, and BI reporting in partnership with underwriting, compliance, and engineering.
Requirements
Strongly preferred
2-5 years experience in commercial P&C insurance product analysis, actuarial, or competitive analysis
Bachelor's degree in mathematics, statistics, economics, finance, or related analytical field
Demonstrated experience with commercial insurance products and insurance data analytics
Advanced SQL proficiency for data extraction and analysis from PostgreSQL
SERFF system knowledge including navigation, filing preparation, and objection response
Advanced spreadsheet modeling skills for financial analysis and data manipulation
Experience with industry databases and tools: ISO manuals, NCCI data, regulatory research platforms
Understanding of commercial insurance products including rating methodologies and underwriting guidelines
Knowledge of state insurance filings process
Understanding of ISO forms, NCCI guidelines, and industry standard practices
Understanding of actuarial concepts including loss development, rate adequacy, and predictive modeling
Nice to have
Actuarial exams (P, FM, MAS-I, MAS-II, 5) preferred but not required
Python experience for advanced analytics (preferred)
