Closer to a data science crossover than a pure modelling role because the ad extends beyond actuarial pricing into broader machine learning and decision science.

Senior P&C actuarial data science role with American Modern’s Predictive Analytics team in Ann Arbor, Michigan. You’ll lead pricing model strategy for personal property and auto products, develop and monitor GLM/GBM models, support regulatory filings, and translate advanced analytics for business and regulatory audiences.

Requirements

Must have

FCAS designation
6+ years of data science/predictive analytics in insurance or 8+ years in other industry
Experience in multiple programming languages including R and Python
Deep understanding of GLMs and GBMs
Master's degree in Business Analytics, Statistics, Computer Science, or related double major
Must not require visa sponsorship

Strongly preferred

Familiarity with AI and machine learning concepts (supervised/unsupervised, deep learning, NLP)
Strong understanding of data structures, algorithms, and software design patterns
Experience working in an agile team environment (Scrum or Kanban)
Proven experience with project management and prioritization

Nice to have

Experience with Databricks or similar big data platforms
