Closer to client-facing consulting than a reserving/reporting-cycle role—the ad emphasizes varied engagements, client liaison work, and mentoring.

Senior Health actuarial consulting role in KPMG’s Audit practice in McLean, Virginia. You’ll support group and health insurance clients through reserving, risk adjustment, actuarial value calculations, financial reporting, modeling, and experience studies. The role also includes client liaison work and mentoring junior staff.

Requirements

Must have

  • Minimum three years of recent actuarial work experience in a professional services environment working with an actuarial software package
  • Minimum one year of U.S. GAAP statutory financial reporting experience
  • Passed two actuarial exams
  • Authorized to work in the U.S. without visa sponsorship

Strongly preferred

  • Strong understanding of group and health insurance products
  • Excellent working knowledge of Microsoft Excel and R
  • Bachelor's degree in actuarial science, applied statistics, financial analysis, insurance, or mathematics
  • Ability to work on multiple projects and prioritize without intensive direction

Nice to have

  • Experience with financial reporting or modeling of Medicaid, Medicare, ACA, group health, long term care, and/or supplemental health products
