Structured actuarial internship

Closer to a structured student programme than a modelling-heavy role—the 80/10/10 design prioritizes broad exposure over deep ownership of one model.

Life actuarial internship in West Des Moines, Iowa, supporting pricing and product analysis for new and existing insurance products. You will analyze data, build spreadsheet tools, modify actuarial models, and communicate results to internal stakeholders. The 8–10 week paid internship is designed for students pursuing a relevant bachelor’s degree.

Requirements

Must have

  • Criminal background check
  • Eligible to work in the US without sponsorship
  • Regular attendance

Strongly preferred

  • Pursuing a bachelor's degree in Actuarial Science, Mathematics, Finance or related field
  • Strong computer skills including spreadsheet experience
  • Strong communication skills

Nice to have

  • Successful completion of at least 1 SOA exam
  • Basic understanding of insurance
  • High level of mathematical ability including calculus, linear algebra, probability and statistics
  • Experience with SQL or SAS
