Structured student development programme

Closer to a structured student programme than a specialist modelling role—the breadth of placements and enrichment outweighs depth in one actuarial function.

Life actuarial intern role in Hartford, Connecticut, supporting annuity and life insurance work. During a ten-week hybrid summer program, you'll gain exposure to pricing, valuation, financial reporting, and risk assessment while developing technical and leadership skills.

Requirements

Must have

  • Entering sophomore year or beyond
  • Minimum 3.5 GPA
  • Hybrid onsite in Hartford, CT (Tue-Thu)
  • Must be authorized to work in US without sponsorship

Strongly preferred

  • Pursuing a Bachelor's degree in actuarial science, mathematics, economics, or similar
  • At least 1 SOA actuarial exam passed
  • Demonstrated drive for continuous learning and growth
  • Strong work ethic and willingness to do what it takes
  • Keen attention to detail and ownership of work
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Aptitude for learning technical software (Excel, VBA, R)
  • Strong critical thinking, analytical, problem-solving skills
  • Desire to continually improve processes
  • Ability to work autonomously while managing conflicting priorities

Nice to have

  • Previous internship experience
