People leader in actuarial pricing

Closer to people leadership than a pure pricing partner because managing and developing the pricing team is an explicit core expectation.

Director-level Life actuarial pricing role in Pacific Life’s Life Insurance Pricing team, based in Newport Beach, CA, Omaha, NE, or Charlotte, NC. You’ll lead product development and pricing for individual life insurance, manage a pricing team, and partner across risk, modeling, sales, legal, operations, and investment management. The role is hybrid but requires four days per week onsite.

Requirements

Must have

  • FSA designation
  • 10+ years of actuarial pricing and product development experience
  • Direct experience developing life insurance products
  • Bachelor's degree in Actuarial Science, Finance, Mathematics, Computer Science, or related field

Strongly preferred

  • Strong management, team-building, and communication skills
  • Excellent project management and business partnering abilities
  • Proven leadership with a strong sense of urgency
  • Ability to understand the big picture and mobilize initiatives in ambiguous situations
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel

Nice to have

  • VBA coding experience and proficiency in related programming languages
  • Experience with actuarial modeling and statistical analysis programs (Prophet, R, MG-ALFA, GGY-AXIS)
