Senior Health actuarial role with Alaska's Division of Insurance in Juneau. You will review life and health rates, forms, and reserves; analyze insurer solvency and filings; advise the Director; and support regulatory and legislative work. The position is onsite and requires healthcare rate-filing experience, with life, annuity, disability, or long-term care experience helpful.
Requirements
Must have
Experience reviewing or preparing healthcare insurance rate filings
Strongly preferred
Bachelor's degree in Actuarial Science, Mathematics, Statistics or similar
5 to 7 years of actuarial experience
Solid understanding of actuarial concepts for life and health products, including pricing, valuation, and non-forfeiture
At least 5 years actuarial experience with understanding of state regulatory rate filing review
Nice to have
Experience reviewing life, annuity, disability income, or long-term care insurance product filings
ASA designation or equivalent and MAAA membership
Proficiency in SERFF, Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Adobe Acrobat
Knowledge of insurance actuarial procedures and principles
Knowledge of loss reserving methodologies
Strong organizational, time management, and communication skills
Ability to work collaboratively in a virtual environment
