Life and Health regulatory actuarial role

Regulatory and compliance work rather than a carrier pricing partnership—the emphasis is independent filing review, solvency oversight, and rulemaking.

Senior Life and Health actuarial role with Alaska’s Division of Insurance in Juneau. You’ll review health, life, annuity, disability, and long-term care filings; assess rates and reserves; analyze insurer solvency; and advise the Director on regulation and legislation. The position is primarily onsite and involves interaction with insurers, regulators, agencies, the legislature, and the public.

Requirements

Must have

  • Minimum of 5 years actuarial experience
  • 5-7 years actuarial experience
  • Experience reviewing or preparing health insurance rate filings
  • Proficiency in SERFF, Microsoft Office, Adobe Acrobat

Strongly preferred

  • ASA and MAAA preferred

Nice to have

  • Experience with life, annuity, disability, LTC product filings beneficial
