Client-facing Medicaid consultant

Closer to multi-client advisory work than a pricing or underwriting partner: business development and client presentations are core to success.

Director-level Health consulting role in Milliman’s CMH Health Practice, focused on Medicaid managed care. You’ll lead cross-functional client projects, advise on healthcare financing and delivery, present findings, and help grow the client base. Hartford, Milwaukee, or Chicago office work is preferred, with remote candidates considered.

Requirements

Must have

Legally authorized to work in the US without immigration support now or in the future
Bachelor's or master's degree in a quantitative field
FSA designation with the Society of Actuaries
7+ years of health actuarial experience or similar at consulting firm or health insurance company
3+ years of Medicaid managed care experience within the past three years
Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and actuarial concepts
Experience managing projects

Strongly preferred

Strong communication skills (verbal and written) and analytical thinking
Self-motivated, creative, and resourceful
Strong time management skills
Ability to work independently and in a team environment
Client focused and results-oriented
Ambition and excitement for professional development within the actuarial field

Nice to have

Experience with managed Medicaid programs; preference developing Medicaid capitation rates for state agencies
Experience mentoring staff
