Closer to a pricing implementation partner than a modelling-heavy IC because success depends on embedding reinsurance analysis into live business processes.
Associate Life Actuary role in MetLife’s New York-based Retirement & Income Solutions Annuity business. You’ll support reinsurance pricing and implementation across annuity products, including model updates, profitability analysis, operating-model design, and cross-functional delivery. The role seeks 3-5 years of actuarial experience, including at least two years in reinsurance; ASA or pre-FSA is preferred.
Requirements

- Bachelor's degree in mathematics, statistics, actuarial science or related discipline
- 3-5 years of actuarial experience
- At least 2 years of reinsurance experience
- ASA or pre-FSA designation (Society of Actuaries)
- Strong quantitative and communication skills
- Able to present concisely to technical and non-technical audiences
- Strategic and analytical thinker with attention to detail
- Self-starter able to manage and supervise multiple projects and priorities simultaneously
- Strong computer skills: Excel, Access, Visual Basic, Prophet
- Excellent analytical and spreadsheet skills
