Role Summary

Role type

GAAP valuation and reporting specialist

Closer to regulatory reporting than a pure reserving cycle role—the differentiator is GAAP implementation and governance, not routine quarter-end valuation alone.

Senior Life actuarial valuation role for Universal Life products, focused on GAAP implementation, governance, and quarterly financial reporting. The hybrid US position requires three office days weekly in Cedar Rapids, Baltimore, Philadelphia, or Denver, with strong cross-functional exposure to model development, accounting, and finance.

Requirements

Must have

  • Ability to work autonomously within defined timelines
  • Experience with life insurance products
  • Effective oral and written communication skills
  • Demonstrated history of analyzing and interpreting large data sets
  • Exemplifies highest professional integrity and standards

Strongly preferred

  • Bachelor's degree in Actuarial Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Economics or related field and 5 years of relevant experience
  • FSA or equivalent professional designation; in lieu ASA+8 years experience
  • High quality leadership, judgment, organization and prioritization skills
  • Effectively communicates advanced mathematical and analytical concepts
  • Works well under pressure and within time constraints
  • Excellent computer skills
  • Proficient modeler with AXIS software

Nice to have

  • Power BI experience
  • SQL, VBA, Python, and/or Alteryx programming experience
  • Prior experience with GAAP LDTI reporting
