Paid 10-week Health actuarial internship in Utica, New York, for undergraduate or graduate students. Interns support health plan pricing and Medicare bid filings, trend analysis, reserving, risk adjustment, capitation, and financial projections while receiving mentoring and development workshops.
Requirements
Must have
- Enrolled in a full-time undergraduate or graduate degree program
- Good academic standing
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to work while sitting/standing at a workstation for 3+ hours at a time
Strongly preferred
- Desired majors: Mathematics, Economics, Actuarial, or Statistics
- Ability to work well in a team
- Demonstrates strong organizational, analytical, problem-solving and prioritization skills
- Proactive approach to work
- Commitment to continuous improvement of skills and team functioning
- Self-motivated and able to work independently and as part of teams
- Experience with Microsoft Office Suite
- Experience using a desktop computer in a professional environment
- Ability to travel across the health plan service region for meetings or training
