Closer to client consulting than a reserving cycle role because the work spans multiple sponsor types and requires explaining results to non-technical audiences.
Senior Health and Employee Benefits consulting actuary role in Charlotte, North Carolina, with a flexible hybrid arrangement across the U.S. You will advise multiemployer, private, and public-sector clients on Health and OPEB valuations, liabilities, funding, accounting, pricing tools, and projection models. The role requires an ASA or FSA with progress toward the FSA and at least four years of pension actuarial experience.
Requirements
Must have
- Bachelor's degree
- FSA or ASA with exams towards FSA
- Occasional travel for client meetings
Strongly preferred
- 4+ years of pension actuarial experience with proficiency in valuations
- Expertise in all aspects of Health and OPEB plans (GASB, multiemployer, public sector)
- Working knowledge of Taft-Hartley
- Strong oral and written communication skills
Nice to have
- Preferred experience in Proval, Access, SQL, and/or Java
